Bharatiya Janata Party leader ANS Prasad, lashed out at the ruling DMK and accused the party of distorting historical facts and misleading the public

He highlighted the long-standing 'deceptive' tactics employed by the DMK since it first came to power in 1967, claiming that the party has consistently distorted facts and misled the people of Tamil Nadu for decades.

"Since the DMK assumed power in Tamil Nadu in 1967, every time they have ruled, they have manipulated history, claimed credit for achievements they never made, and misled students, youth, and society with false narratives. This long-standing deception continues to pose a threat to Tamil Nadu," Prasad said.

"From the era of the late Chief Minister Annadurai to Karunanidhi's leadership and now Stalin's administration, the DMK has evolved into a government that misleads the public by promoting lies and false promises at every event. It is time for this deception to stop," he added.

He criticized Chief Minister MK Stalin, and said, "The Dravidian model government has buried political decency and become a symbol of corruption."

The BJP leader also praised CPI(M) State Secretary K Balakrishnan for boldly questioning the DMK regime. Balakrishnan had asked whether an "undeclared emergency" had been imposed in the state, and following this, Murasoli, the DMK's mouthpiece, issued veiled threats against him. Despite this, Balakrishnan stood firm, setting an example of courage in the face of government intimidation.

He also questioned the silence of Tamil Nadu's prominent actors, who had once stood up for the people during times of crisis, by failing to speak out against incidents such as the sexual assault of an Anna University student.

"In the past, actors in Tamil cinema not only entertained the public but also stood up for people during crises by contributing resources and voicing concerns against the misdeeds of the ruling government. Why, then, are Tamil Nadu's actors silent now? Why are they neither commenting on incidents like the Anna University student's sexual assault nor taking to the streets to protest?" Prasad asked.

Prasad demanded swift action in the investigation of heinous crimes, urging the government and police to ensure that justice is served quickly and fairly.

"The Tamil Nadu government and police must stop issuing vague statements to divert attention. They should ensure justice by conducting swift and lawful investigations, especially in heinous crimes like sexual assaults, and delivering maximum punishments in the shortest possible time. Only this will restore faith in governance and justice."

"Despite the threats from Murasoli, the DMK government, and the police's repressive actions, Tamil Nadu's actors and public figures must rise to the occasion. They must create awareness and expose the misdeeds of this anti-people government. They must stand with the people and safeguard Tamil society," he added. (ANI)
