Calling former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal "Chunavi Hindu," Bharatiya Janata Party leader Manoj Tiwari on Friday claimed that the people of Delhi are "forced" to buy drinking water in the national capital.

"Delhi remembers, during Covid time when Delhi was in need of oxygen, you (Arvind Kejriwal) were making 'Sheesh Mahal'. Today, as the PM said, if we wanted, we could have made 'Sheesh Mahal' too but instead, we (BJP) worked for poor people...Arvind Kejriwal couldn't even provide water to people...people of Delhi are forced to buy drinking water," Tiwari told ANI.

"Visiting mandir during the elections, won't help you (Kejriwal). Chunavi Hindu banne se kuch nhi hoga. Your (Kejriwal) intentions are not to work for the people of Delhi. Today again PM Modi laid and inauguarted various development schemes. PM Modi said that he will not stop until he provides pucca houses to poor people. They (AAP) just stopped the work in Delhi," Tiwari told ANI.

After PM Modi termed the Delhi government as "Aapda Sarkar," Manoj Tiwari pointed out that the AAP government stopped the 'Ayushman Yojana' in Delhi.

"Arvind Kejriwal should remember that they stopped 'Ayushman Yojana', they stopped the registration of houses for poor in government authorised colonies...they stopped pension, ration card so what PM said, it must have pricked them (AAP)...whatever solutions we MPs have given to Manohar Lal Khattar and Nitin Gadkari, PM Modi has accepted it and we will carry out them," Tiwari claimed.

Earlier today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a veiled dig at the Aam Admi Party (AAP) national convenor and said, "Mai bhi koi sheeshmahal bana sakta tha"

Addressing a public meeting in Ashok Vihar's Ramlila Ground, PM Narendra Modi took a dig a former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal. The Prime Minister targeted him for constructing an 'opulent residence' for himself as Chief Minister.

"The country knows it well that Modi never built a home for himself but has built more than 4 crore houses for the poor... 'Mai bhi koi sheeshmahal bana sakta.." (I could have also built a palace for myself)'. I urge all of you, whenever you interact and meet with slum dwellers, to ensure to tell them on my behalf that they will definitely get pucca houses, if not today, then tomorrow," the PM said.

The Prime Minister said that the development of cities would play an important role in realising the goals of Viksit Bharat.

"Today the whole country is engaged in building a 'developed India'. We are working with the resolve that every citizen of the country should have a permanent house in a 'developed India'. Delhi has a very big role in this resolution, hence the BJP-led central government started a campaign to build permanent houses in place of slums," he said.

PM Modi inaugurated the 1,675 newly constructed flats for the dwellers of JJ clusters and also handed over keys to eligible beneficiaries at Swabhiman Apartments in Ashok Vihar, Delhi.

PM Narendra Modi also virtually inaugurated two urban redevelopment projects - the World Trade Centre at Nauroji Nagar and GPRA Type-II Quarters at Sarojini Nagar, CBSE's Integrated Office Complex at Dwarka and also laid the foundation stone of Veer Savarkar College at Roshanpura, Najafgarh.

Ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections 2025, the battle between the AAP, BJP and Congress has become intense, with all three parties levelling allegations on each other.

Dates for assembly polls in Delhi are expected to be announced in a few days. (ANI)
