Women wrestlers sexual harassment case: Delhi Court records evidence of main witness

The Rouse Avenue court in Delhi on Tuesday recorded the evidence (statement) of the main witness in the women wrestlers sexual harassment case. The statement was recorded in a closed courtroom. The recording of the statement has been deferred for the next date.

Former BJP MP and former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh is accused in this case.

Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) Vaibhav Chaurasia recorded the evidence of the victim/witness in a closed court room.

Additional Public Prosecutor (APP) Atul Srivastava appeared for Delhi police and got recorded the evidence of witnesses.

The witness had reached the court before 2 PM. Her statement was recorded for more than two hours.

On the other hand, Advocate Rajiv Mohan along with Advocate Rishabh Bhati appeared for accused Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.

The court has listed the matter for recording her further evidence on December 10.

The Rouse Avenue court on November 4 issued summons to witness/victim for recording of evidence (examination). She was the main participant in the women wrestlers protest at Jantar Mantar in January 2023.

She is one of the complainants also in the matter. (ANI)
