After BJP-led Mahayuti scored a historic victory in Maharashtra assembly polls on Saturday, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Praful Patel said that people have given a clear mandate to the Mahayuti and soon it will be decided who will lead the Mahayuti.

Speaking to ANI, NCP leader Praful Patel said, "People have given a clear mandate to the Mahayuti. Ajit Pawar will be elected leader of the NCP Legislative Party tomorrow and within 1-2 days we (BJP, Shiv Sena and NCP) will have a meeting and it will be clear who will lead the Mahayuti."

The NCP leader also thanked the people and assured them that the party would build a Maharashtra that everyone will be proud of in the next tenure.

"Thank you to all the people of Maharashtra! I am deeply grateful to all my dear sisters, farmer brothers and our youth who love pink as a symbol of women empowerment," posted the NCP leader on X.

"For the great faith you all have shown in the thoughts of the Nationalist Congress Party, I want to assure you all that we will build a Maharashtra that everyone will be proud of in the next tenure! We are going to create a comprehensive Maharashtra expected by Shiv-Shahu-Phule-Ambedkar by leading Maharashtra on the path of sustainable, all-round progress!" added Praful Patel.

"I would like to express my appreciation to the competent leaders, hard-working office bearers and active workers of NCP. Today's victory is the result of the tireless efforts of all of us. Once again, many thanks to everyone!" the post further reads.

The BJP led the Mahayuti alliance to a smashing victory carrying its allies - Shiv Sena and NCP - with its momentum in Maharashtra.

The ruling Mahayuti alliance won the Maharashtra assembly polls and is poised for a landslide mandate. While the BJP has won or is ahead in 132 seats, Shiv Sena led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has won or is ahead in 57 seats and NCP led by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar is poised to win 41 seats. The state has 288 assembly seats. (ANI)
