Union Minister Chirag Paswan on Thursday exuded confidence of NDA's victory in both Jharkhand and Maharashtra and said that they have more faith in their hard work than the exit polls.

"I have more faith in our hard work than the exit polls. We have been to Jharkhand and Maharashtra. The way people have shown their inclination towards the NDA alliance has further increased my belief that in Jharkhand, people have made up their minds to bring about change...A government based on the vision of PM Modi is going to be formed there (Jharkhand) and an NDA government is going to be formed in Maharashtra too," Chirag Paswan told reporters.

As the high-stakes Assembly elections came to an end, Maharashtra recorded a 62.05 per cent voter turnout, while Jharkhand saw 68.01 per cent, surpassing the 67.04 per cent turnout in the 2019 assembly elections, the Election Commission of India (ECI) said on Wednesday.

According to exit polls, the ruling Mahayuti is poised to retain power in Maharashtra with the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) also putting up a strong show in assembly polls.

According to Republic TV-PMARQ exit poll, the Mahayuti alliance could win 137-157 seats whereas the Maha Vikas Aghadi could get 126-147 seats and others 2-8 seats.

The majority mark in Maharashtra assembly is 145 and the range of Republic TV-PMARQ prediction suggested that even MVA could cross the mark.

Jharkhand is also likely to see a change of government with BJP-led National Democratic Alliance coming to power in the state, three exit polls said with one poll giving the majority to the ruling JMM-led alliance.

According to Chanakya Strategies exit poll, the BJP-led NDA is likely to win 45-50 seats in the state while the JMM-led alliance could win 35-38 seats. It said others could get 3-5 seats.

My Axis predicted that the JMM-led alliance would retain power in Jharkhand by winning 53 seats.

The results for Maharashtra and Jharkhand assembly polls, and by-polls will be announced on November 23. (ANI)
