Lok Sabha MP Pappu Yadav exuded confidence in peope's trust in leaders of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) including Nationalist Congress Party (SCP) supremo Sharad Pawar, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray as Maharashtra awaits results for the assembly elections held on November 20.

Speaking to ANI on Thursday, Yadav alleged that the BJP "stirred tensions" between communities in Maharashtra adding that the exit polls signal the latter's defeat.

"In Maharashtra, the BJP stirred tensions between the Marathi and Gujarati communities, but people have placed their trust in Sharad Pawar, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and Uddhav Thackeray," he said.

"Just watch how Ajit Pawar's situation unfolds, considering the personal attacks on Sharad Pawar's family. The BJP has targeted his sister, and this is one of the most disgraceful acts they could have done. Attacking a woman for political gains is a shame," he added.

Yadav also spoke on the situation in Jharkhand, saying, "As for Jharkhand, historically, after the state's formation, no government was ever formed again, but the people of Jharkhand have given their answer. The public has responded by rejecting the goons, ensuring that control over water, land, forests, energy, and resources won't be taken away. The tribal culture and politics won't be destroyed."

"The mothers, daughters, and sisters of Jharkhand have trusted Hemant and Kalpana Soren. The youth have decided to end the politics of hatred, eliminate the goonism of Hemanta Biswa Sarma, stop the looting of public funds, and rid the state of the culture of meat, alcohol, and corruption," he added.

Yadav added that the promises made by Rahul Gandhi, like reducing gas cylinder prices and electricity costs, have been backed by the government.

On Purnea airport project, the Purnea MP said, "It was a long-time dream. This is the result of the struggles of the people of Purnea, not the BJP or JD(U). I thank the people of Purnea for giving the land for the project and making it possible." He also claimed that all five of his promises had been fulfilled."

"I have made five promises, and I have delivered on all five: the airport, medical facilities, railways, etc. You will soon see significant progress in Purnea, Kosi, and Seemanchal," he added.

The independent MP from Bihar's Purnea further urged the JD(U) and BJP to cooperate in making Purnea a sub-capital and establishing a High Court bench there. He then lashed out at the central government for allegedly ignoring the development of the airport and other infrastructure in the region.

"Why has the airport not been functional? Why hasn't it been developed?" he asked.

On recieving threats, he said that he has written to Home Minister Amit Shah asking for security. "I am asking for the safety of my family and the people who support me. The authorities are aware of these threats, but they have not acted," he said.

The Purnea MP also vowed to continue speaking out against 'corruption' and 'injustice' in the government despite the "threats". (ANI)
