Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party leaders are trying to divide the society between "Hindus and Muslims and create communal tension."

"We will form the government in Jharkhand again as we have for the development of the public. BJP leaders from Assam, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat and Maharashtra are coming here to fool people. They are trying to divide the society between Hindus and Muslims and create communal tension. This is their USP and strength," Soren said addressing a public rally in Bokaro.

He further asserted that the INDIA bloc is going to win the Jharkhand assembly elections by a huge margin.

"In the first phase, the INDIA bloc is winning with a huge margin. In the second phase, with double enthusiasm and strength," he added.

The Jharkhand CM asked the people of the state to "use bow and arrow to kill the birds, crows and vultures who are conspiring against Jharkhand."

Earlier today, Jharkhand Chief Election Officer K Ravi Kumar said that voting was conducted peacefully in 43 assembly constituencies on November 13.

"All EVMs are in the strong room and have been sealed. We are preparing for the second phase of Jharkhand assembly elections which will be held on November 20... There are 1.23 crore voters, and 257 candidates for the second phase of assembly elections... We will make proper security arrangements to conduct the elections peacefully," Ravi Kumar said.

Elections on the remaining 38 seats will be conducted on November 20. The counting of the votes will take place on November 23. (ANI)
