With just days to go for the first phase of polling in Jharkhand, Assam Chief Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jharkhand co-incharge Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday exuded confidence that his party will get 'huge' majority in the upcoming election.

Speaking to ANI, the Assam Chief Minister highlighted that Prime Minister Modi did a 'historic roadshow' on Sunday, while underscoring his party's election campaign was 'very' good.

"I think that we are moving forward towards a huge majority. The atmosphere is very good; our election campaign was very good. PM Modi did a historic roadshow yesterday. We are going to win here with a huge majority," he told ANI.

On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a road show in Ranchi and two rallies in Bokaro and Gumla, where he slammed Congress and its allies for "attempting to create a divide between SCs, STs, and OBCs."

Attacking Congress, he said that its allies "can't see Adivasis on top," and have kept Jharkhand backward.

PM Modi, also launched a scathing attack on JMM and Congress alliance, during his rally in Bokaro and said, "BJP-led government is needed in Jharkhand to drive out infiltrators,"

He alleged that both Congress and JMM were attempting to create a divide between SCs, STs, and OBCs saying they enjoyed power by creating divisions. "Everyone needs to stay alert and aware of the major conspiracy by JMM and Congress. They can do anything for power."

PM Modi concluded his Sunday in Jharkhand by holding a three km roadshow in Ranchi, where thousands of people gathered on both sides of the road to show their support for Bharatiya Janata Party.

Voting for the 81-member Jharkhand Assembly will be held in two phases on November 13 and 20, with vote counting scheduled for November 23. (ANI)
