Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday kickstarted his campaign in Jhakhand with a rally in Bokarao where he attacked the INDIA alliance stating that people who were opossed to the creation of Jharkhand, will never work to develop the State.

In contrast, said the Prime Minister the BJP-led NDA alliance has only one mantra - "We have created Jharkhand; we will develop Jharkhand."

Addressing the crowd in Bokaro, PM Modi said, "There is a strong storm blowing in favour of BJP in Jharkhand. This Chota Nagpur plateau is also saying: The call of roti, beeti and maati that BJP-NDA will form government in Jharkhand. BJP-NDA has only one mantra here - we have created Jharkhand; we will develop Jharkhand. Those people who have been against the creation of Jharkhand state will never develop Jharkhand."

Citing the example of former minister Alamgir Alam, who was arrested by the ED after the raids and a cash of Rs 35.23 crore recovered from his premises, PM Modi attacked the JMM government and said that the people in the State are struggling while these leaders are earning crores by smuggling sand.

"BJP wanted that the poor should get proper houses, good roads should be built in cities and villages, electricity and water should be available, there should be medical facilities, education facilities, water for irrigation, medicines in old age. But in the last five years of the JMM government, these facilities that were your right were snatched away by the people of JMM and Congress," the Prime Minister said.

"You are craving for a handful of sand, and their leaders are earning crores by smuggling sand. From them, mountains of notes have been discovered... From where did these notes come? Isn't this your money? Isn't this the money looted from you?..." he alleged.

Sharpening his attack further, PM Modi said that when the Congress was in the power from 2004 to 2014, they hardly provided funds to Jharkhand, whereas when the BJP came to power, it gave four times more money than Congress.

"Ten years ago from today, from 2004 to 2014, there was a Congress government at the Centre, Madam Sonia Ji used to run the government and Manmohan Singh Ji was made the Prime Minister. At that time, the Central Government had with great difficulty given Rs 80 thousand crores to Jharkhand in 10 years. After 2014, the government changed in Delhi, you gave Modi a chance to serve and in the last 10 years we have given more than Rs 3 lakh crore to Jharkhand. We gave four times more money because we made Jharkhand and only we will develop Jharkhand," he said.

PM Modi further promised that if the BJP comes to the power, then they will fight a legal battles against the corrupt leaders.

"Now if you have decided to form the BJP-NDA government, I promise you that after forming the government, we will fight the entire battle in the court to ensure that these corrupt people get the harshest punishment. The money that is your right will be spent on you, it will be spent for you, it will be spent for the future of your children," he said.

The 81-member Jharkhand Assembly will hold elections in two phases on November 13 and 20, with vote counting scheduled for November 23. (ANI)
