The Uttarakhand Government has mandated the use of 'House of Himalayas' products in meetings, as well as across all departments and offices under its jurisdiction.
Under instructions from Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, 'House of Himalayas' products will now be prioritised for all departmental meetings and events. 'House of Himalayas' is a brand featuring products made by women self-help groups, farmers, farmer-producer organisations, and rural entrepreneurs in Uttarakhand. Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Radha Raturi issued a letter to department and office heads on Wednesday, urging the purchase of 'House of Himalayas' products for various departmental and office meetings, programmes, celebrations, and major festivals like Holi and Diwali, as a means of supporting the rural economy. Chief Minister Dhami highlighted that, inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Vocal for Local' initiative, the Uttarakhand Government is promoting the 'House of Himalayas' brand. He noted that quality products from 'House of Himalayas' are also available as gift packs for significant occasions like Diwali, and encouraged citizens to support rural entrepreneurs by purchasing these products. The 'House of Himalayas' brand was inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi during the Investor Summit on December 8, 2023. To ensure quality, branding, and effective marketing, the initiative focuses on large-scale promotion and sustainable development, aligning with local stakeholders' long-term goals, such as self-help groups, farmer livelihood advancement, and the objectives of the Lakhpati Didi programme. Earlier, PM Modi praised the 'House of Himalayas' brand, stating it reinforces the concept of 'Vocal for Local and Local for Global.' (ANI)
