Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Sunday praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for making Mann Ki Baat a campaign of 'public awareness'.

While speaking to media persons, Shivraj Singh Chouhan said, "Prime Minister Modi has made Mann Ki Baat a campaign of public awareness. He also presented the facts of cybercrime so that the public can avoid it, at many times people get cheated."

PM Modi spoke about 'digital arrest' in his address at the 115th Mann Ki Baat on Sunday, noting that the ones doing such activities are the enemies of society.

"...There is no system like digital arrest in the law, this is just fraud, deceit, lie, a gang of criminals and those who are doing this are enemies of society. Various investigative agencies are working in collaboration with the state governments to deal with the fraud that is going on in the name of digital arrest. National Cyber Coordination Centre has been established to create coordination among these agencies," PM Modi said.

"...Under digital arrest fraud, callers portray themselves as police, CBI, RBI, or narcotics officials, and they talk with a lot of confidence. People asked me to talk about this in Mann Ki Baat. It is important for you to understand this. The first step is your personal information. They collect all your personal information. 2nd Step is the atmosphere of fear. They will scare you so much that you won't even be able to think. Step 3- The time pressure... Victims of digital arrest are from all sections and ages. Many people have lost lakhs of their hard-earned money. If you ever get a call like this, don't be afraid. You should know that no investigating agency does such an interrogation over the phone or video call. There are 3 steps of digital security- stop, think, and take action. If possible, take a screenshot and do the recording. No government agencies give such threats over the phone nor do they demand money," PM Modi added.

Uttar Pradesh BJP chief Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary also hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for touching upon various subjects, including India's art and culture, cyber fraud, and digital arrest, in his Mann Ki Baat address.

"...PM Modi talked about vocal for local and also about how the world is accepting India's art and culture. The PM also talked about cyber fraud and digital arrest...", Chaudhary noted.

On PM Modi's 'Mann Ki Baat' programme, UP Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak said, "He has put forth many important issues before the people of the country. The issue of Cyber Fraud - Digital Arrest, which the PM talked about, is an important issue. I appeal to the people of the state to remain vigilant about such things." (ANI)
