The second edition of the Shimla Flying Festival & Hospital Expo 2024 witnessed an exciting Day 2, with over 40 pilots showcasing their skills in a thrilling Paragliding Accuracy Competition. The event drew a large audience, captivated by the precision and artistry displayed by the participating pilots.

Simultaneously, the Expo featured more than 40 exhibition stalls, offering a diverse range of products and services. Among these, 20 stalls represented startups from various sectors, including food, dairy, handicrafts, handloom, furniture, and travel consultancy. The vibrant atmosphere reflected the entrepreneurial spirit and the variety of offerings on display.

On Friday, the event will be graced by The Great Khali, adding to the festival's excitement. Anirudh Singh, Minister of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Himachal Pradesh, will also attend the event at 2 pm, further enriching the day's programme.

Organiser Arun Rawat has encouraged people to come and witness the grand celebration of sportsmanship, entrepreneurship, and community spirit.

The four-day Paragliding Flying Festival and Hospitality Expo kicked off in Junga, located 30 km from Shimla, on Wednesday. The event was inaugurated by the Governor of Himachal Pradesh, Shiv Pratap Shukla, and 400 paragliding pilots have participated.

With over 40 paragliders from Himachal Pradesh and various regions across the country taking part, the festival aims to promote adventure sports and lesser-known tourist spots around Shimla. Participants from Nepal are also a key attraction of the festival.

This marks the second time such a paragliding competition has been organized in Junga, with excitement running high among participants and organisers alike.

In his inaugural speech, Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla emphasised the dual objectives of fostering adventure tourism and increasing the popularity of places like Junga. "The Shimla Flying Festival, organised in Junga village of Shimla, is not just about a few people attending an event. It is about promoting adventure tourism in Himachal Pradesh. I thank the organisers for hosting this programme for the second consecutive year. This initiative will undoubtedly benefit the entire state and boost the popularity of Junga," Shukla said. (ANI)
