Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav visited the Sanchi Milk Processing Unit in Indore on Saturday and interacted with the employees working there.

"By empowering the Sanchi Milk Union and its employees through committees, special efforts will be made to promote animal husbandry and boost milk production in the state. No permanent or outsourced employee of the Sanchi Milk Union will be dismissed. We aim to double the current milk production in the state, and the Sanchi brand will be further strengthened," CM Yadav stated.

The Chief Minister emphasised that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, the "double-engine" government is making special efforts for the development of every sector. Despite having over 51,000 villages, Madhya Pradesh lags behind other states in milk production. However, the state will strive to become the leading producer by increasing both milk production and the range of dairy products, he added.

He further remarked, "Milk production and cooperative societies associated with it will be strengthened across the state. No employee of Sanchi Milk Union will be forced to take voluntary retirement, and no outsourced staff will be laid off. These employees will become key stakeholders in strengthening the milk union. Efforts will also focus on increasing the turnover from milk production. Additionally, a bonus will be provided to cattle farmers in the state."

The CM also highlighted that the existing committees within the milk union will be further developed, and efforts will be made to increase both the production and consumption of Sanchi milk and its products across the state.

He added, "An MoU has been signed with the National Dairy Development Board to enhance the Sanchi brand through collaboration. Madhya Pradesh's agricultural growth rate stands at 25%. To further promote animal husbandry, a new scheme will offer subsidies to cattle farmers with more than 10 cows, supporting both animal husbandry and milk production."

CM Yadav also noted that older livestock in the state are being housed in gaushalas (cow shelters) for their protection, and subsidies for these shelters have been increased. Special conferences will be organised to encourage farmers to boost their milk production. (ANI)
