"Situation remains tense," says local after four Army soldiers injured in Kishtawar

The Indian army cordoned off the Kishtawar area in Jammu and Kashmir after four soldiers were killed in an encounter with the terrorists on Friday evening.

A local resident of the area confirmed that the Indian Army has cordoned off the area as the situation remains grim.

Thakur Rangeel Singh, a local resident of the area, speaking to ANI, said, "Around 3-3:30 we got to know that an encounter broke. We got to know that four of the Indian army soldiers had been injured. The situation is quite tense here, and the area has been cordoned off by the Indian Army.""Based on the intelligence inputs, a joint operation with Jammu and Kashmir Police was launched in area Chatroo at Kishtwar. A contact has been established with the terrorists at 1530 hrs. In the ensuing firefight, four army personnel have been injured. The operation is in progress," posted White Knight Corps of Indian Army on X.According to Indian Army officials, "Four Indian Army soldiers have been injured in the ongoing encounter with terrorists in Kishtwar. One of the injured has been evacuated to the nearby Command Hospital for treatment, while three are being treated locally.""The security forces have cordoned off the area and operations are still going on. More details awaited," said the officials.Security has been heightened in Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar following the encounter between security forces and terrorists in the upper reaches of Naidgham village.
