The President highlighted the festival's role in promoting harmony and called on citizens to work for a peaceful and prosperous India.

PM Modi also wished the nation saying, "Heartiest greetings of Ganesh Chaturthi to all countrymen. Ganpati Bappa Morya."

Sharing his wishes on the occasion, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said, "Ganpati Bappa Morya! Heartiest greetings of Shri Ganesh Chaturthi to all the countrymen. I wish that Vighnaharta Shri Ganpati Bappa brings happiness, peace and prosperity in the life of all of you."

Ganesh Chaturthi, a ten-day festival, begins today and will end on Anantha Chaturdashi. Devotees across Maharashtra are preparing for celebrations by bringing idols home and visiting pandals.
