The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will hold a nationwide press conference on August 24 to question Congress's intention behind its alliance with the National Conference (NC).

The decision to hold the press conference came shortly after Union Minister Amit Shah posed 10 questions to Rahul Gandhi and the Congress Party regarding their alliance with the NC.

According to the party source, "We will be giving media byte or Press conference on Congress-NC alliance concerning the safety and security of country including Jammu and Kashmir. We will be raising the same 10 questions that Home Minister Amit Shah asked to Rahul Gandhi and his party."

Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a scathing attack on the Congress party over its alliance with the National Conference (NC) for the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections, questioning its stance on key issues outlined in the NC's poll manifesto.

Earlier today, Amit Shah asked Rahul Gandhi and Congress Party 10 questions concerning the safety and security of Jammu and Kashmir.

Taking to X, Shah said, "The Modi government ended years of discrimination against Dalits, tribes, Pahadis, and backward communities by granting them reservations after the abrogation of Article 370 and 35A."

"Does Rahul Gandhi support the JKNC manifesto, which calls for abolishing reservations for Dalits, Gujjars, Bakerwals, and Pahadis?" he asked.

On Thursday, Congress and the NC announced a pre-poll alliance and said that seat-sharing talks are currently underway. The pre-poll alliance was announced soon after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and party chief Mallikarjun Kharge met NC chief Farooq Abdullah.

After the meeting, Farooq said that the Congress-NC would fight for all 90 seats in the assembly polls.

The formal announcement of the tie-up was made by NC patron Farooq Abdullah in Srinagar. "United, we stand," JKNC posted on X.

The announcement was made after Farooq Abdullah and his son, Omar, met Kharge and Rahul Gandhi.

Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir will be held in three phases on September 18, 25 and October 1. The results will be announced on October 4.

The Election Commission has issued notification for the first phase of assembly seats for 24 seats. This is the first assembly poll in Jammu and Kashmir since the abrogation of Article 370. (ANI)
