"Economic document for self reliant, developed India": CM Yogi hails Union Budget 2024-25

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath praised the Union Budget 2024-25, presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday, as an inclusive and development-oriented plan that aligns with the aspirations of India's 140 crore citizens.

"Under the guidance of PM Modi, in the new parliament of the country, the Finance Minister has laid down the general budget of the country which is -inclusive, development-oriented and one which will fulfil the aspirations of 140 cr people. In this general budget, there is unlimited potential for development. In this budget, 1,52,000 has been given for the prosperity of the farmers and also more than 3 lakh crore for women's empowerment," CM Yogi said, hailing the Union Budget.

CM Yogi Adityanath expressed confidence that these measures would significantly benefit Uttar Pradesh. Additionally, he welcomed the new tax slabs introduced in the budget, noting their positive impact on the state's economic landscape.

Labelling the Union Budget as an economic document for the creation of a 'Developed India-Self-reliant India', CM Yogi said that the budget has a resolve for the holistic development of all sections of society including villages, poor, farmers, women, youth, a vision to become self-reliant in every field and a roadmap to free the deprived from deprivation.

"The General Budget 2024-25 is an economic document for the creation of a 'Developed India-Self-reliant India'. It has the sacred spirit of Antyodaya, infinite possibilities of development and a new vision of innovation," CM Yogi wrote in a post on X."The announcement of new provisions regarding the direct tax system, providing major relief to the middle class, is welcome," he added."Heartfelt gratitude to the respected Prime Minister and heartfelt congratulations to the Hon'ble Union Finance Minister for this public welfare budget that paves the way to make the 'New India' a 5 trillion dollar economy and the growth engine of the world!" CM Yogi wrote on X.Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman while presenting the Union Budget for the fiscal year 2024-25 in Lok Sabha on Tuesday allocated Rs 1.52 lakh crore to the agriculture and allied sectors. Finance Minister Sitharaman emphasised the importance of research and development in the agriculture sector.She announced that substantial funding would be provided for R&D initiatives, particularly focusing on the production, storage, and marketing of pulses and oilseeds."We will strengthen their production, storage, and marketing," she stated. This initiative aims to achieve "Atmanirbharta" (self-reliance) in oilseeds such as mustard, groundnut, sesame, soybean, and sunflower."As announced in the interim budget, a strategy is put in place to achieve "Atmanirbharta" for oil seeds such as mustard, groundnut, sesame, soybean and sunflower," she said.Sitharaman announced a three-year plan to facilitate the digital public infrastructure for agriculture, aiming to cover farmers and their lands comprehensively."Our government will facilitate the Digital public infrastructure in agriculture for coverage of farmers and their lands in 3 years. During this year, a digital crop survey for Kharif using the DPI will be taken up in 400 districts," Sitharaman said. "The details of 6 crore farmers and their lands will be brought into the farmer and land registries. The issuance of jan-Samarth based Kisaan Credit Cards will be enabled in 5 states," she said.A new national cooperation policy will be introduced to ensure the systematic, orderly, and all-round development of the cooperative sector."Our government will bring out a national cooperation policy for systematic, orderly and all-round development of the cooperative sector. Fast-tracking growth of rural economy and generation of employment opportunities on a large scale will be the policy goal," Sitharaman said. (ANI)
