After the Triyuginarayan temple where Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati tied the knot, according to popular belief; the Usha-Anirudh wedding pavillion at Shri Omkareshwar Temple in Ukhimath town is also set to emerge as a favourite destination for would-be couples to take their nuptial vows.

And, in the first of many, as is being hoped, a young man from Delhi tied the knot at the Usha-Anirudh Vivah Mandap on Thursday.

Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee Chairman Ajendra Ajay has been leading the initiative to popularise the Usha-Anirudh marriage pavillion at Shri Omkareshwar Temple in Ukhimath as a wedding destination, with the couple from Delhi being the first to get married at the venue.

Lakhan Chandela (44) and Sangeeta Singh (41), from Delhi's Rohini, got married in accordance with time-honoured rituals and puja. Their wedding was officiated by the Acharyas of the temple committee. The local women along with the Mahila Mangal Dal organised a Mangal Gaan programme, wishing the newlyweds on holy matrimony.

The locals were also seen blessing the couples to the beats of Dhol-Damau.

That was when they resolved to get their children married at the same marriage pavillion.

For this, the family contacted the chief executive officer of Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee, Yogendra Singh, executive officer RC Tiwari and senior administrative officer Yaduveer Pushpavan, who provided them will all the support for the wedding, the Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee said.
