The father of the minor accused of opening fire at actor Tiger Shroffs residence has said that his son left home nearly two months ago and that he had no information about his activities or the people he was spending time with.

Speaking to ANI, the father said his son used to work as a tile layer before leaving home. He said he learnt about the firing incident only after receiving a call from the police.

The father, who works as a daily-wage labourer and has a 50 per cent disability, said the incident had left the family in distress. He also spoke about their financial struggles and said he had been unable to eat since learning about the case.

Recalling the circumstances under which his son left home, he said, He went to a fair on the 13th and 14th, and after that, I do not know why he left or where he went. I have no information about what actually happened.

I am an uneducated man and studied only up to Class 4. I earn my living through daily-wage labour. I am also physically disabled, with a disability certificate stating that I have a 50 per cent disability. I take up whatever work I can find to support my family

The father said his son had not told the family where he was going or what he planned to do. He also spoke about an earlier case involving motorcycle theft, in which his son was arrested.

Recalling the earlier case, he said, There was an earlier case involving motorcycle theft. He was arrested some time later... I questioned him about it and told him that he should not have done such a thing. I lost my money in the process, but I never got it back, and the matter was never resolved

According to Mumbai Police, the firing took place at around 7 pm on Sunday in the Juhu area when Tiger Shroff was leaving a football club. The accused allegedly opened fire at the actors car.

Three people, including a juvenile, have been apprehended by Kota City Police in connection with the incident. According to the police, they were caught while travelling on a train.

The actor escaped direct gunshot injuries, while his driver sustained injuries in the incident.

A case has been registered under Sections 109(1) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with Sections 3 and 25 of the Arms Act. Further investigation is underway. (ANI)
