As per a press statement, speaking about her involvement, Alia said, The Earthshot Prize is really about hope but hope that comes with ideas, action and people who are finding new ways forward. Thats what makes it so inspiring to be a part of. There are people across the world doing incredible work to protect and repair our planet, often in ways we may never have imagined. And to have Mumbai bring all these people together feels very special. Im proud that India gets to be part of this moment, and Im really looking forward to celebrating the people behind these solutions and the work theyre doing for all of us. The 2026 ceremony will be streamed globally on Prime Video for the first time. The broadcast is expected to be available in more than 240 countries and territories and in more than 40 languages. The Earthshot Prize was founded by Prince William and incubated within The Royal Foundation in 2020 before becoming an independent organisation. The prize focuses on five environmental challenges: Protect and Restore Nature, Clean Our Air, Revive Our Oceans, Build a Waste-Free World, and Fix Our Climate. The initiative was inspired by President John F Kennedys Moonshot programme and is intended to support environmental solutions over a 10-year period. The organisation aims to identify and support 50 winners during that period. (ANI)
