The Miss Universe India 2026 pageant has entered a crucial stage on Friday as 52 from across the country took part in the Gala Round, along with the Introduction and Welcome Ceremony. The event followed the Sashing Ceremony, Introduction Walk and Speech Round, bringing the contestants a step closer to the coveted national title.
The Gala Round is considered one of the most significant segments of the competition, where all finalists appeared in elegant gowns and designer ensembles. During this stage, contestants are assessed on various parameters, including personality, confidence, stage presence, etiquette, communication skills and overall fashion sensibility. Although it is not an elimination round, participants are evaluated and scored on specific judging criteria, making it an important milestone in the overall competition, read a press note. During the Gala Round, the finalists also interacted with members of the media, sharing their experiences and confidently responding to questions about their journey in the competition. Speaking on the occasion, Nikhil Anand, Honor of Miss Universe India said, Miss Universe India is much more than a beauty pageant. It is a platform that celebrates talent, leadership, social responsibility and the confidence of Indian women on a global stage. It offers contestants much more than the opportunity to win a crown--it helps them grow into confident, responsible and inspiring individuals. Every finalist has earned her place here through dedication and hard work, and each one of them is a winner in her own right." The competition will continue with several assessment rounds before culminating in the Grand Finale, scheduled to be held in Jaipur on August 23, 2026.
