Bollywood power couple Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia Deshmukh have been appointed as the brand ambassadors for the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation's (ST) public awareness initiatives, in a bid to strengthen the public awareness around the 'Road Safety Campaign'.
In the agreement handover ceremony held on Wednesday, the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (ST) and the Transport Department announced the appointments. Actor Riteish Deshmukh was also present at the ceremony. Speaking to the media, Riteish recalled how he used to travel in the state buses with his late father and former Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh. "It means a lot to have been chosen as the MSRTC, ST brand ambassador. My father travelled in these buses in his early days. I too travelled in state buses during my childhood... I am committed to the progress of state transport. My priority will be to send a clear message to the people, making them aware of the importance of avoiding drink and drive for their safety," Riteish said. At the ceremony, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, and many others were present. Pratap Sarnaik, Minister of Transport, Government of Maharashtra, also shared pictures from the ceremony and shared the vision behind the initiative. "This appointment has been made with the objective of more effectively reaching the public with various public awareness campaigns being implemented by the ST Corporation, as well as making the awareness of the Transport Department's 'Road Safety Campaign' more impactful. The film's trailer was recently unveiled, taking audiences into the actor's intense pursuit of swarajya.
