Saturday turned out to be nostalgic for all those who love 'Rehnna Hai Terre Dil Mein' (RHTDM) film as actors R Madhavan and Dia Mirza did a special Instagram live interaction to mark the re-release of the film.

During the virtual chat, the duo shared their experiences working in 'RHTDM', which marked the Bollywood debut of both Dia and Madhavan.

Dia recalled, "We were travelling from one place to another for 14-18 hours, constantly going from one place to another. We would often catch up on our sleep in the flight. The film was also shot that way - we had shot in South Africa, New Zealand, Australia and Mumbai. The film's release date was announced before we finished the bhaag daur."

She also remembered how Madhavan had predicted that the film would connect with the audiences, and how it has come true despite the initial failure.

They also reacted to fans' comments.

When one of the fans asked them about Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein part 2, Dia Mirza said, "Kaun Banayga?"

To this, Madhavan replied, "Yaar Dar yeh hai na ki we should it better than the original one. Warna na humko itni gaaliyan padegi"

RHTDM was released in 2001. The romantic drama, directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, was a remake of his own Tamil film Minnale released in the same year.

A couple of years ago, rumours surfaced online that the makers of the film were planning to make a sequel. In 2020, Madhavan refuted the rumours of the sequel to 'RHTDM'.

The '3 Idiots' actor took to Twitter to state that he does not have any idea about the sequel to the classic love saga released years ago."#RHTDM ..Guysss ...been reading rumors about the sequel .. and hoping it's true-cause I have no idea about this," he tweeted.

He further went on to joke that both he and her co-actor Dia Mirza are much older now as compared to when the original film was released in 2001 and he wished that the script of the film be "age-appropriate" for them in case of a sequel.

"Just praying that someone somewhere has an age-appropriate script for Dia and I -varna ab madhav shastri banna to hathi ko chaddi pehnane ke barabar hai," his post further read.

The film also starred Saif Ali Khan in a key role. (ANI)
