New Delhi [India], September 1: At The Folly, Amethyst, on 14th August, the Chennai showcase brought together the label's latest festive ensembles comprising pre-draped sarees, lehengas, coordinated sets and Indo-western silhouettes, alongside an evening of styling conversations with fashion personalities. The occasion also marked a significant return for ERAYA to the city where the brand began its journey a decade ago. For Arpana Garg, founder of ERAYA, the edit reflects the way she sees women dressing for celebrations today. Rather than approaching festive dressing through heavily traditional looks, she wanted to create pieces that retain the richness of Indian dressing while feeling fresh and easy to wear. "For me, the most important thing was that the clothes should make a woman feel good when she puts them on, not just look beautiful on a hanger." That thinking comes through in the collection's fluid silhouettes, graceful draping and considered detailing. The edit moves between Indian and Indo-western dressing, with sarees and drape sarees alongside lehengas, coordinated sets and contemporary occasion wear. Each piece is designed to feel distinctive, polished and easy to wear, allowing women to dress for celebrations in a way that feels personal rather than predictable. Stylist Shanaya Reddy was among those seen wearing ERAYA at the showcase, bringing her own take on contemporary festive dressing to the evening. Speaking about her experience with the brand, she said, "I love wearing ERAYA outfits. They're beautifully crafted, comfortable, and always make me feel confident and effortlessly dressed." That emphasis on comfort and individuality extends to ERAYA's customisation offering. Clients can personalise their ensembles across fit, silhouette, fabric and detailing, allowing each piece to be adapted to the woman wearing it. At the showcase, Vimmi, prominent in Chennai's business and social community, was also dressed in ERAYA. Sharing her experience, she said, "The outfit was extremely comfortable and felt really soothing on the skin. She loved the richness of the colour and how beautifully it came together. She also had a wonderful time at the event hosted by Arpana and truly enjoyed the entire experience." Fabric plays an equally important role in shaping the edit. Organza, summer silk, silk and chiffon bring different qualities to the collection, from structure and richness to softness and movement. Rather than choosing fabrics simply for their luxurious appeal, ERAYA considers how each one sits, moves and feels when worn. The evening also featured Shweta Mittani, a prominent figure in Chennai's exhibition and social circles, who wore ERAYA for the occasion. Sharing her experience, she said, "I loved the fit of the outfit and the sharp, structured detailing. I especially enjoyed the beautiful embellishments and how they elevated the overall look. I also had a wonderful time being part of the event and hosting it with Arpana, who I found absolutely lovely to work with." For ERAYA, returning to Chennai carried significance beyond the launch of a new festive edit. A decade after beginning its journey in the city, the showcase offered an opportunity to reconnect with its audience while presenting the evolution of the brand's aesthetic. With this latest edit, ERAYA reimagines Indian craftsmanship for the contemporary occasion wardrobe, offering refined, versatile pieces designed around how women want to dress, move, and feel today.
