Paris [France], June 15: Renowned cultural ambassador Rahis Bharti and the Dhoad Band, internationally acclaimed for promoting the rich folk heritage of Rajasthan on the global stage, have been invited to perform at the prestigious "Bonjour Modi" event in Paris on 18 June 2026, organized in honor of the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi.

The event, celebrating the friendship between India and France and the vibrant Indian diaspora, will take place at the iconic Salle Pleyel concert hall in Paris. Rahis Bharti and the Dhoad Band have been officially selected by the Embassy of India in Paris, an honor that reflects the growing international recognition of India's cultural heritage.

Currently on their Europe Tour 2026, Rahis Bharti and the Dhoad Band are representing Rajasthan and India at prestigious festivals and concert halls across Europe. The ensemble includes nearly 20 folk artists from remote villages of Rajasthan, who are presently showcasing India's living traditions through performances across France and beyond.

For the past 26 years, the Dhoad Band has served as a global ambassador of Indian folk culture, performing in more than 119 countries worldwide. Emerging from the deserts and villages of Rajasthan, the ensemble has become one of the most recognized international representatives of Indian folk arts. Every year, the group spends nearly six to seven months abroad, promoting the music, dance, and cultural traditions of Rajasthan and India.

Rahis Bharti has dedicated over two decades to preserving and promoting Indian culture internationally. Through his efforts, more than 700 folk artists from Rajasthan's diverse communities and remote regions have been given opportunities to perform on national and international stages.

The Dhoad Band has played a crucial role in bringing global recognition to Rajasthan's traditional artistic communities, including Langa, Manganiyar, Kalbelia, Dhadhi, Damami, Rana communities, as well as traditional brass band artists. Rahis Bharti's work has significantly contributed to preserving and promoting Rajasthan's intangible cultural heritage across the world.

Over the years, Rahis Bharti and the Dhoad Band have represented India at numerous prestigious international events, including celebrations linked to Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee in London, the Singapore Formula 1 Grand Prix, and several major cultural and state events worldwide. These performances have elevated the international profile of Indian folk culture.

Their performance at the "Bonjour Modi" event on 18 June 2026 in Paris will symbolize the global resonance of Indian culture and Rajasthan's living heritage. The occasion represents not only a milestone for the ensemble but also a moment of pride for Rajasthan's folk artists and India's cultural legacy.

Following the "Bonjour Modi" event, Rahis Bharti and the Dhoad Band have been invited to perform at prestigious festivals and cultural events in Portugal, various cities across France, as well as Germany, Switzerland, Italy, and Spain, further strengthening India's cultural presence on the international stage.

Speaking on the occasion, Rahis Bharti said:

"It is a great honor and privilege for us to perform at this special event held in honor of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This recognition belongs not only to the Dhoad Band but also to the folk artists of Rajasthan and the rich cultural heritage of India."

Today, Rahis Bharti and the Dhoad Band continue to serve as cultural ambassadors of India, carrying the spirit of Rajasthan across continents. Wherever the Dhoad Band performs, the soul of Rajasthan travels with them.
