Cracking down on a spy ring working for the ISI of Pakistan police here have arrested an Army Lance Naik along with sensitive defence documents near Shastri Park Metro station in East Delhi. Mohammad Naseem, Lance Naik with the Light Infantry of the Indian Army and posted in Jammu and Kashmir was arrested yesterday near Shastri Park metro station at about 1140 hrs by the Special Cell sleuths following a tip-off, while waiting for his 'contact' to deliver the documents, police said today. He was part of a spy ring active since 2006 and had managed to pass sensitive documents earlier to his ISI connections here. Documents related to training of Army personnel, weaponry, positioning of units and a hand-written sheet in Urdu carrying details on rank structure of J&K Light Infantry, movement orders of troops were recovered from his possession. ''A Case under the Official Secret Act has been registered at Special Cell police station at Lodhi Colony here.'' Posted with the 3rd J&K Light Infantry at Jakli Recruitment Centre at Rangret, Srinagar, Naseem joined the Army in 1995. During interrogation he revealed that his 'session' with spying began in March 2006 after he met one Ali Jatoon, an ISI agent, who lured him to give information about the Indian Army and its movements for which he was paid. Earlier, in November last year he supplied some sensitive information about the Army to his handler. This time, he was on leave since June 12, and came to Delhi to pass on the defence related documents to ISI conduit agent for which he was to be paid Rs 50,000.
