2027 is the 75th anniversary year of diplomatic relations between India and Japan. YAMATO TRANSPORT COMPANY is trying to contribute to Indian society by merging its "analogue" sophisticated job policy to Indian DX AI policy.
YAMATO TRANSPORT COMPANY is the biggest delivery company in Japan. With more than 100 years of history developed overseas business. In India, Yamato launched in 2008; the Sidhrawali logistics centre in Haryana state is the biggest logistic center to handle industrial products for India, Africa and the Middle East. More than 300 Indian workers are employed. Managing Director Daisuke Ito of YAMATO LOGISTIC INDIA explains, Sidhrawali logistic center has 260,000 square feet of storage and most of them are occupied by industrial products. But to get more business opportunities, YAMATO actively seeks access to Indian companies. When Yamato transports a factory facility, improve plan of customer's supply chain is presented. The plan is created based on the knowledge and skill cultivated in Japan. Business cooperation with the Indian company is progressed. In India, there are many middle-class delivery companies. YAMATO suggests an appropriate delivery plan and safe packing skills. Its cooperation realises a premium delivery system. To harmonize to Indian society, YAMATO incorporates the Government policy "Craftsman Training Scheme". After 3 weeks of classroom education, trainees go to the workplace to shape working skills. YAMATO teaches basic working policy: 5S policy = Sort, Set, Shine, Standardise, Sustain. It is the substance of "Kaizen(Improvement)" a typical Japanese workplace tradition. Some prominent workers will be invited to YAMATO HQ's logistics centre in Japan. It is an opportunity to experience of newest logistics facility and system. Daisuke Ito, MD, emphasises the merge of Japanese "analogue" operation skills and Indian DX AI skills. YAMATO's sophisticated skill of job flow was established through experience and trial-and-error improvement. It is the work of a human being. But with the development of DX AI technology, comprehensive management is constructed by merging "analogue" skills and DX AI technology. It means the transformation from "Implicit knowledge" to "Formalization". YAMATO positively commits to the Gati Shakti digital plan. It is a National Master Plan to improve infrastructure--road, railway, etc. It will contribute to realising a modern transportation and delivery network. Indian Deputy General Director Manish Sheoran said: "YAMATO's job policy is much deeper than other Indian companies." He will be nominated as a prominent staff member to visit YAMATO HQ in Japan.
