Ashish Sinha, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs, emphasised India's rising global stature during his recent visit to Katra.

Speaking at an interaction with students and dignitaries, Sinha highlighted that India has significantly enhanced its credibility on the world stage across multiple dimensions -- strategic, economic, diplomatic, and technological.

"India as a nation has gained credibility. Today, the world can no longer afford to ignore India in any aspect," Sinha stated.

He underscored the country's role as a responsible global player, contributing actively to international forums, driving innovation, and playing a key role in global peace and development.

Sinha also appreciated the efforts being made at the grassroots levels to align with India's broader vision of becoming a global leader while remaining rooted in its values and democratic ethos.

Speaking with ANI, Sinha said that India's profile has increased and credited top leadership for it.

"India's profile has increased. It has increased a lot in recent years. It is a symbol of our credibility in the world. This is because of the popularity of our top leadership. And our credibility has also increased with the decisions we have taken from time to time." Sinha said.

Sinha emphasised on India's decisive role in geopolitics, mentioning that the country's opinion is sought even n matters not directly related to India.

"So now it is that if any such thing happens in the world, there is no talk about it by ignoring India. One needs to know India's opinion on things that are not directly related to India. If the world's community thinks something or wants to do something, then India's thinking is definitely included in the collective thinking." Sinha said.

Ashish Sinha is presently serving as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs and has been appointed as India's next Ambassador to Estonia.

Sinha is an Indian Foreign Service Officer of the 2005 batch. He is expected to take up the assignment shortly. (ANI)
