Lebanon celebrated on Monday the country's 78th Independence Day with a military parade, Lebanon's Presidency said in a statement.
Held at the Defense Ministry in Yarzeh, southeast of the capital Beirut, the parade began with a 21-gun salute, followed by President Michel Aoun laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Xinhua news agency reported. Helicopters and Tucano aircraft from the Lebanese Air Force flew over the venue, carrying a Lebanese flag. It was followed by a military parade with the internal security forces, the general security forces, the United Nations Interim Forces in Lebanon, the Lebanese Army Military Academy, the Lebanese navy and others.
