Klaasen crosses 600-run mark in IPL 2026, becomes fifth batter to make 2000 runs for SRH

Sunrisers Hyderabad's destructive batter Heinrich Klaasen added another record under his name when he surpassed Rishabh Pant to score the highest runs by a batter in an IPL season, while batting at number four or lower.

The 34-year-old South African has made 606 runs for SRH this season and he became the first batter to cross the 600-run mark while batting at number four or lower in an IPL season. He overtook Pant, who had made 579 for Delhi Capitals (then Delhi Daredevils) in 2018.

Riyan Parag is third on the list with 573 which he made for Rajasthan Royals in 2024 season. The fourth place is occupied by Rohit Sharma (538 runs for MI in 2013). Glenn Maxwell is after him with 513 runs, which he made for RCB in the 2021 edition.

Klaasen also became the fifth SRH batter to make 2000 runs for the franchise. David Warner is the leading run-scorer for SRH with 4014 runs. Shikhar Dhawan is at the second place with 2678 runs, followed by Abhishek Sharma's 2316 and Kane Williamson's 2101 runs for the franchise. Klaasen now has 2020 runs for SRH.

In the match, SRH opted to bat first in their last league-stage game and posted 255/4 with the help of half-centuries from Abhishek Sharma (56 off 22 balls), Heinrich Klaasen (51 off 24 balls) and Ishan Kishan (79 off 46 balls).

Travis Head and Nitish Kumar Reddy also contributed well with the bat and helped their side post a competitive total.

Rasikh Salam Dar took a couple of wickets for RCB, whereas Suyash Sharma and Krunal Pandya took one wicket each.

RCB are leading the points table with 18 points and SRH are in third place with 16 points. This is the last league-stage match for both sides SRH will try to win this match with a big margin to overtake Gujarat Titans and finish at the second place with a better net run rate. GT are currently at the second spot with 18 points. (ANI)
