The result underlined United's attacking depth and resilience as they managed to withstand repeated pressure from Forest while securing all three points in a closely contested fixture. Brazilian legend Casemiro, who was signed by Manchester United at the age of 30, played his final match in the Club's Jersey. During his spell in England, Casemiro contributed in several decisive moments, including scoring in the League Cup final victory over Newcastle United and lifting the FA Cup against rivals Manchester City, while also remaining a consistent presence during a challenging transitional phase for the club. In his final appearances for United, the Brazilian midfielder registered his most prolific league campaign, scoring nine Premier League goals in a single season, surpassing his previous best tally. Man Utd midfielder Casemiro said as quoted by Premier League, "I start with thank you very much to everyone, the players, the staff, but thank you everyone, but the best thing in this club is you, fans, you - thank you." With this result, Manchester United remain third in the Premier League standings with 68 points from 37 matches, strengthening their position in the race for a strong finish to the season.
