Brazilian football star Roberto Carlos arrives in Nepal

Renowned Brazilian football star Roberto Carlos arrived in Nepal's capital, Kathmandu, on Tuesday morning to appear as a special guest in the ongoing Nepal Super League (NSL).

His visit was initially scheduled for Friday, but it got postponed due to health concerns. With his condition improved, Carlos landed in Nepal's capital to attend the ongoing Nepal Super League (NSL) at Dashrath Stadium as a special guest.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest left-backs in football history, Carlos made his senior debut for Brazil in 1992. He earned over 120 caps for the national team and was instrumental in Brazil's 2002 FIFA World Cup victory in South Korea and Japan.

Carlos a Brazilian former professional footballer. In 1997, he was runner-up in the FIFA World Player of the Year. He is primarily known for his long career at Real Madrid and his constant presence in the Brazilian national team.

Carlos spent most of his club career at Real Madrid, where he played from 1996 to 2007. During his time with the Spanish giants, he won four La Liga titles and three UEFA Champions League trophies. He is one of the few players to have made over 1,100 professional career appearances at the club and international level.

The Nepal Super League, a knockout football competition featuring seven franchise teams, began its third season on Saturday, March 29, at Kathmandu's Dasharath Stadium.

The seven teams competing are Butwal Lumbini FC, Dhangadhi FC, FC Chitwan, Jhapa FC, Pokhara Thunders, Lalitpur City FC, and Kathmandu Rayzrs.

The seven clubs will compete in a single round-robin format. The two finalists will then be determined by the four teams playing in the two qualifiers and an eliminator.

The final is scheduled for April 26. The third edition did not see Birgunj United FC or Sporting Ilam De Mechi FC participate, in contrast to the second edition, which had nine teams. (ANI)
