Ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 clash between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI), former India cricketer Kedar Jadhav hailed the three experienced spinners of the five-time champions, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Noor Ahmad.

The two most consistent sides in the history of the IPL, CSK and MI, will add another chapter to their fierce rivalry on Sunday at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. Some of the most renowned faces in the history of Indian cricket will square off against each other and fight for victory.

Speaking to the media on the opening day of the 18th edition of the cash-rich league, the former right-hand batter

"It is important to see how the pitch is being prepared for the three spinners. It is also important to see the pitch. If the pitch is dry, the spinners will come into the game. I don't think they will have an upper hand in the first half. In the second half, when the pitch is dry due to overheating, I think the three spinners will be a match-winning combination for CSK," JioStar Marathi Expert Kedar Jadhav told ANI.

Ashwin returned to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for Rs 9.75 crore. The legendary all-rounder has taken 764 wickets in 286 matches across all formats for India. In 65 T20Is, he has picked up 72 wickets at an average of around 23. Ashwin has also made significant contributions in the IPL, scoring 800 runs and taking 180 wickets in 212 matches. He is a multi-time IPL winner with CSK.

Seasoned all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja stands eight scalps short from becoming CSK's leading wicket-taker for CSK in the IPL. Jadeja's tally is only bettered by Dwayne Bravo's 140 wickets for the five-time champions. If Jadeja goes on to make five appearances in the ongoing edition, he will become CSK's second-most-capped player for the franchise.

Super Kings roped in Afghanistan spinner Noor Ahmad for a whopping Rs 10 crore on Sunday. CSK and MI started bidding to get the player. In the end, GT used the Right To Match (RTM) option and raised the bid to Rs 10 crore, but they later pulled out.

Noor has played 10 ODIs and 14 T20Is for Afghanistan, taking 16 wickets. In the 2023 and 2024 seasons, he played for Gujarat Titans, picking up 24 wickets in 23 matches. He is a well-known name in the franchise league circuit. (ANI)
