Final Results: 1st Hockey India Sub Junior Men & Women Inter-Zone Championships 2024

East Zone in the Women's category and North Zone in the Men's category were crowned champions of the 1st Hockey India Sub Junior Men & Women Inter-Zone Championships 2024 after defeating SAI Shakti and East Zone, respectively.

Meanwhile, West Zone defeated SAI Bal in the Women's category, and SAI Academy beat West Zone in the Men's category to finish third.

In the Women's Final, in Narwana, East Zone beat SAI Shakti 3-1. Manjhi Pushpa (34') opened the account for East Zone but Manjinder (45') answered back with a goal for SAI Shakti. Minz Priyanka (48') and Guria Sushmita (55') scored in the last quarter to seal the title for East Zone.

West Zone defeated SAI Bal 4-1 in the Women's 3rd / 4th Place match. West Zone built a four-goal cushion after braces from Sidar Madhu (9', 17') and Bhabar Keshar (20', 51'). The only goal for SAI Bal was scored by Bharti (58').

In the Men's Final, in Ranchi, North Zone defeated East Zone 3-1. East Zone scored the first goal through Nicolas Topno (10') but North Zone flipped the switch and goals from Captain Rahul Yadav (24') and Rajbhar Prahalad (48', 59') turned the game in their favour.

SAI - Academy beat West Zone 2-1 in the Men's 3rd / 4th Place match. Amit Dayal (6') scored first for SAI - Academy, followed by a goal from Oram Ranjit (30'). West Zone answered through Kumar Vivek's (25') goal but failed to threaten further.

On the other hand, in the final of the 1st Hockey India Junior Men & Women Inter-Zone Championships 2024 saw SAI Shakti lift the trophy in the Women's category, in Ranchi, and in the Men's category, in Lucknow, after beating East Zone and North Zone respectively. Meanwhile, West Zone and SAI Bal finished third in the Women's and Men's categories respectively.

In the Women's Final, in Ranchi, SAI Shakti defeated East Zone 3-0. Kajal (7', 13') led the goal-scoring efforts for SAI Shakti with a brace. She was joined on the scoresheet by Laltlanchhungi (52') to seal their first-place finish.

West Zone defeated SAI Bal 3-1 in the Women's 3rd/4th Place match. West Zone built a solid lead after goals from Captain Gupta Palak (24'), Khushi (27'), and Parmar Ronak (36'). SAI Bal's Karuna Minz (38') scored a goal from the spot in the third quarter but failed to change the scoreline any further.

In the Men's Final, in Lucknow, SAI Shakti beat North Zone 5-1. The goalscorers for SAI Shakti were Shivam Patel (10'), Sachin (20', 54'), and Ashu Maurya (37', 51') while the only goal for North Zone was scored by Ujjwal Pal (46').

SAI Bal defeated East Zone 6-4 in the Men's 3rd/4th Place match. Ansh Kamboj (8'), Dhanush Shane D (11'), Kushal Bopaiah Cb (23'), Captain Rahul (43'), Suraj Kumar (51'), and Asim Ekka (55') got on the scoresheet for SAI Bal. Meanwhile, Ricky Tonjam (4', 39'), Bijay Shaw (22'), and Amit Tirkey (59') found the back of the net for East Zone. (ANI)
