Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), developed by South Korean video game developer Krafton, on Thursday announced that it has partnered with Sony Pictures for some new content on the platform.

The company said that exclusive content from 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' will appear in the upcoming BGMI version 1.8 update as a part of the collaboration.

"Starting today, BGMI players will have the opportunity to get exclusive items such as collaboration skins by completing in-game missions," the company said in a statement.

"More details on gameplay and items will be revealed with the launch of BGMI version 1.8 update in mid-January," it added.

"This exciting collaboration will allow fans around the world to expand their engagement with their friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man through BGMI's state-of-the-art gaming experience..." said Jeffrey Godsick, EVP of Global Partnerships and Brand Management and Head of Location Based Entertainment at Sony Pictures Entertainment.

In December 2021, a Google Play report said that BGMI, which is developed specifically for the country, become the 'Best Game of the year'.
