Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) activist Saurav Das fired back sharply at Union Minister of State Jitendra Singh on Thursday, dismissing his claims that foreign-funded entities and cross-border networks were bankrolling their youth-led movement as "baseless and fabricated".
The escalating war of words followed statements by Union MoS Jitendra Singh, who alleged that CJP activists are being funded by unauthorised foreign sources, deep state operatives, and anti-India organisations operating within and outside the country. Directly challenging the government to present tangible proof, CJP activist Saurav Das slammed the minister for repeating unverified narratives: "The allegation is baseless. The question of evidence is something we have been raising from day one, even before the first protest took place on June 6. Even before that, we had witnessed the kind of negative campaign being carried out against this movement and this youth-led agitation. Our first press conference was held on June 3, and ever since then, we have been asking the same question: What is the basis of your so-called allegation? So far, no evidence or justification has been provided. It has been four to five months, and now the same lie that was being peddled by right-wing groups and extremist networks whose only job seems to be to run paid campaigns to malign a very credible movement is being repeated by a senior minister in the government. It is a shame..." Jitendra Singh accused Abhijeet Dipke and Ashutosh Ranka of receiving financial backing from US-based donors and Pakistani politicians. He claimed that these foreign-funded actors, along with anti-India "deep state" operatives, are working to manufacture a narrative against the country. The CJP strongly denied the allegations, dismissing the minister's claims. Denouncing the minister's remarks, the CJP also stated X, writing: "This is the shameful reality. A Union Minister can say anything and get away with it. This is precisely why even the Words of those occupying the highest chairs hold no Value today." The verbal confrontation unfolded as CJP activists Saurav Das and activist Ranka appeared at the Crime Branch office in Delhi after being summoned in connection with an investigation into the October 13 Jantar Mantar trespassing case. Speaking after leaving the Crime Branch office, Ranka maintained that the leaders were cooperating fully with law enforcement while asserting their right to peaceful demonstration: "Today, there was a very routine investigationregarding the events of October 13th. We have statedand continue to reiteratethat we will fully cooperate with any investigation, regardless of which agency is conducting it. Displaying the Tricolour at Jantar Mantar, or anywhere elseincluding on a public roadshould not be considered a crime. We are confident that all ongoing investigations will be conducted fairly and with genuine intent, and we will cooperate fully." (ANI)
