Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday targeted Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav, questioning his alleged support for Bangladeshi infiltrators and accusing the SP and Congress of failing to address farmers distress, poverty, unemployment and womens safety during their years in power.

Those who support rioters and looters, prioritise family over the state, and insult farmers, the poor, Dalits, and youth cannot bring progress, Adityanath said, alleging that the SP and Congress had failed to improve conditions for farmers, provide employment to young people and ensure the welfare of the poor despite ruling for years.

The Chief Minister also accused the opposition parties of questioning constitutional institutions and allegedly supporting Bangladeshi and Pakistani infiltrators.

Targeting Akhilesh Yadav, he asked, I ask Akhilesh Yadav, why do you have so much love for Bangladeshi infiltrators?

Meanwhile, earlier today, marking the occasion of Valmiki Jayanti, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister rolled out a major infrastructure boost for Kanpur Nagar by inaugurating and laying the foundation stone of 48 development projects worth over 411 crore, while also announcing the launch of the GCC Innovation Summit 2026 in Lucknow to open global tech research and high-skilled employment avenues for the youth.

In a post on X on the occasion of Valmiki Jayanti, the Chief Minister stated that he would visit Maharishi Valmikis 'Tapobhumi' in Bithoor to advance the state government's welfare and infrastructure agenda.

"On this occasion, in Bithoor, Kanpur Nagar, I will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of 48 development projects costing more than 411 crore in the Bilhaur and Bithoor Assembly constituencies. At the same time, certificates will also be distributed to the beneficiaries of various public welfare schemes," CM Adityanath posted.

Emphasising that the expansion of civic amenities and promotion of innovation form the core of the 'New Uttar Pradesh' vision, the Chief Minister noted that the state is balancing grassroots infrastructure with cutting-edge technology.

The UP CM also held a Janata Darshan in Lucknow today to hear public grievances, personally interacting with citizens and reviewing their applications to ensure the timely resolution of their concerns.

During the programme, the Chief Minister listened to the issues raised by citizens and directed the concerned officials to take appropriate action to address their grievances.

The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister also handed over copies of the complaints to the officials present at the Janata Darshan and instructed them to ensure their prompt resolution

The Janata Darshan is a regular public outreach programme through which citizens can directly approach the Chief Minister with their complaints and concerns. The initiative provides an opportunity for people to bring their grievances to the governments attention and seek redressal. (ANI)
