Congress leader Udit Raj expressed concern over the reported firing incident involving Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff, alleging that criminal gangs and international extortion networks had become a serious threat across the country. He questioned the government's response to the growing number of shootings, threats and extortion cases, claiming that criminals were operating across borders and coordinating activities from different locations.

Referring to the reported firing incident involving Tiger Shroff in Mumbai, Raj said the problem was no longer confined to one city or state. He pointed to extortion cases in Gurugram, criminal gang networks in Punjab and alleged connections extending to Canada, the United States and Europe.

Criminals are no longer confined to Pakistan or Saudi Arabia; they are operating from Canada, America, Europe, and even from within Sabarmati Jail, orchestrating international criminal syndicates, Raj said.

The Congress leader also referred to the killing of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique, alleging that criminal activities and extortion threats were continuing despite repeated incidents. He claimed that businessmen and families, including non-resident Indians, were being targeted for money.

These international gangsters have become a massive menace across the entire country. They call whomever they choose, and if their demands for money are not met, they kill, he alleged.

Raj questioned why the authorities had not dismantled these networks and called for stronger intelligence gathering and strict action against those involved. He also warned that a possible terror angle should not be ruled out without a thorough investigation.

Raj further demanded exemplary punishment for individuals involved in alleged radicalisation activities, referring to claims by Karnataka Home Minister Priyank Kharge that two people from West Bengal had been identified for alleged links with suspected Pakistani agents.

The Congress leader's remarks also extended to electoral reforms, alleged voter-list manipulation and investment claims made by state governments. He questioned the transparency of election processes and demanded that details of voter deletions and investment proposals be made publicly accessible.

His comments came amid renewed debate over public safety, organised crime and the government's responsibility to prevent extortion, shootings and other criminal activities. (ANI)
