Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved the release of Rs 328.278 crore to urban local bodies as the third instalment for the October-December quarter of the 2026-27 financial year, based on the funds allocated for 2025-26 under the Fifth State Finance Commission, pending the recommendations of the Sixth State Finance Commission.

The Chief Minister has also approved the release of Rs 3 crore to three non-elected local bodies for the second half-yearly instalment of the 2026-27 financial year, covering the period from October 2026 to March 2027.

Additionally, Dhami has granted financial and administrative approval of Rs 72.63 lakh for the construction of a cement concrete (CC) road from Tapri Ghat to Golmanu Primary School in Kuniya Gram Sabha, under the Didihat Assembly constituency in Pithoragarh district.

The approval has been granted under a Chief Ministers announcement. A government order has also been issued approving the first instalment of Rs 43.578 lakh, amounting to 60 per cent of the total sanctioned cost, for the road construction project.

Meanwhile, Dhami approved the accommodation of two Agniveers from the first batch of recruits under the Agnipath scheme in the 40th Battalion of the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC), against available vacancies, as they are scheduled to complete their tenure in the Indian Army in November 2026.

According to the Chief Ministers Office, CM Dhami said that the Agnipath scheme, launched under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is strengthening the spirit of discipline, national service and dedication to duty among the countrys youth.

He said the skills, experience and discipline acquired by Agniveers during their service in the Indian Army constitute an invaluable national asset. The state government respects the contribution and capabilities of Agniveers and is committed to providing these young men, who have served the nation, with further opportunities to serve the state, enabling Uttarakhand to benefit from their military experience, discipline and expertise.
