BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Tuesday held the Congress government responsible for the deaths of three infants in an electrical short-circuit accident at RIMS Hospital in Adilabad and demanded immediate medical care for the 23 other infants injured in the incident.

He said the incident occurred due to a lack of government oversight and basic maintenance in the childrens ward, and called for expert inspections of childrens wards and ICUs in all government hospitals across Telangana, including RIMS Adilabad. This unfortunate incident occurred due to a complete lack of government oversight and a failure to ensure even basic maintenance in the children's wardan area that demands stringent safety measures, he said. Expert inspections must be conducted in the children's wards and ICUs of all government hospitals across the state, including RIMS Adilabad, and robust measures must be implemented to prevent such incidents in the future, KTR said. Earlier, a fire broke out at RIMS Hospital in Adilabad late Monday night, while 28 children admitted to a ward were safely rescued and evacuated, fire officials said. The incident occurred around 11:50 pm. Upon receiving information, a fire tender was rushed to the spot, and the blaze was brought under control. (ANI)
