A differently-abled family in Uttar Pradeshs Basti district has received assistance from the state government for housing, education and basic amenities following the intervention of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, officials said.

The family of Ramkishan Pandey, which has four differently-abled children, was provided support under various government schemes after the district administration took up their concerns on priority following directions from the Chief Minister.

According to officials, the family had been facing difficulties related to housing, education and access to essential facilities. After the matter came to the notice of the administration, steps were initiated to provide assistance and improve their living conditions.

Under the Kanshi Ram Awas Yojana, the family was provided a house, helping resolve their concern of having a permanent shelter. The administration also arranged wheelchairs for the differently-abled children to support their mobility.

Officials said the elder son of the family, Ankur, was also provided the benefit of a disability pension. The move was aimed at extending financial assistance and ensuring regular support for the family.

The administration also focused on the education of the children and facilitated their admission to schools. Officials said efforts were made to ensure that the children continue their studies and get access to educational opportunities.

Apart from housing and education support, the district administration completed the process for providing an Antyodaya ration card, income certificate and Ujjwala gas connection to the family.

The government said the assistance was provided under various welfare schemes to ensure that eligible beneficiaries receive the benefits of public programmes.

Following the Chief Ministers instructions, officials took necessary action to address the familys concerns and provide support related to shelter, food security, education and other basic needs.

The initiative highlights the state governments efforts towards supporting differently-abled persons and economically weaker families by ensuring access to welfare schemes and essential services, officials said. (ANI)
