Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) on Tuesday accused the Revanth Reddy government of resorting to "arrests and illegal detentions" of opposition leaders while also failing to implement its election promises.

In a post on X, KTR alleged that the Congress government in Telangana had failed to implement its "six guarantees and 420 promises". He also questioned the state government's achievements during its current tenure.

"The Congress government, which failed to implement six guarantees and 420 promises, what did it achieve in 1000 days? Arrests and illegal detentions. If promises are to be implemented, BRS party MLCs and MLAs will all come and voluntarily get arrested! We are ready, are you ready? If you have even the slightest respect for women, tell us what actions you took against those who tore the clothes off our MLAs Sabitha and Sunita yesterday, tied their necks with a belt, and beat them," KTR said.

"Even after the High Court spoke so clearly yesterday, if today you deliberately file fake cases and arrest Tata Madhu garu and Naveen Reddy garu, it shows the respect you have for courts and laws. The people are noticing your diversion politics! Jai Telangana," he added.

Meanwhile, BRS MLC Naveen Reddy, who was arrested amid the ongoing row over Mondays developments at the Telangana Assembly, on Tuesday said that the party would continue to raise issues concerning the people despite the arrests.

In a statement, Naveen Reddy said, No matter how many illegal arrests they make, we will stand on the side of the people. As the BRS party, whether in the Legislative Council or the Legislative Assembly, we are ready to raise our voice on behalf of the people. Our leadership told us to fight on behalf of the people, and we will definitely hold the Revanth Reddy government accountable.

Earlier in the day, BRS MLC Thatha Madhusudan alias Tata Madhu was also arrested by Saifabad Police in connection with a case registered over alleged derogatory and abusive remarks against Telangana Legislative Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar.

According to police officials, Tata Madhu was arrested at 7 am on Tuesday.

He has been brought to Narayanguda Police Station after being arrested and is being produced before the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Court, Nampally, Hyderabad, for judicial custody.

Police said the case was registered as Crime No. 364/2026 under Section 352 read with 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Sections 3(1)(r), 3(2)(va) and 3(2)(vii) of the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act at Saifabad Police Station.

The case was registered based on a complaint filed by Pollepalli Venkatesham, Officer on Special Duty to the Assembly Speaker. (ANI)
