Chandigarh Police apprehended three persons in connection with a case involving a suspected improvised explosive device (IED) and a firearm, officials said on Sunday.
The police recovered a suspected IED and other material from the apprehended persons in an area behind the Sector-43 bus stand in Chandigarh. An FIR has been registered at Police Station 36, Chandigarh, and an investigation into the matter is underway. Following the recovery, security arrangements at the site have been tightened, while investigative agencies are examining the recovered items.
