NTA suspends Eduquity's empanelment after power failure disrupts AIAPGET exam at Jaipur centre

The NTA said that pending the resolution of the notice, the empanelment of M/s Eduquity with the agency has been suspended with immediate effect.

"NTA has issued a show-cause notice to M/s Eduquity Career Technologies Pvt. Ltd. for lapses in the conduct of the AIAPGET examination at a center in Jaipur. Pending resolution of the notice, the empanelment of M/s Eduquity with NTA stands suspended with immediate effect," NTA said.

The AIAPGET examination was conducted on August 22 for 36,979 registered candidates in Shift-I across 200 centres in the country. Out of these, 35,837 candidates appeared for the exam, and the examination was completed for 35,788 candidates.

However, at Shri Satya Sai PG College Centre in Jaipur, 49 candidates could not complete the examination due to a power failure at the centre. The centre had 192 candidates appearing for the exam, and the issue was attributed to M/s Eduquity Career Technologies Pvt. Ltd., the exam conducting agency.

The NTA expressed regret over the inconvenience caused to the affected candidates and announced that their re-examination will be conducted on September 1 at 10 am at Rajasthan College of Engineering for Women, Jaipur.

The agency said further details regarding the re-examination will be provided through revised admit cards issued to the affected candidates.

Students recounted the chaos inside the examination halls, stating that the systems froze shortly after the exam commenced, leaving them in limbo for over an hour.

"We have been preparing for this exam for months, putting in endless hours of study. Just 15 minutes after the exam started, the systems hung. We kept waiting, hoping it would restart, but nothing happened for nearly an hour and a half. The anxiety and stress inside the hall were unbearable," said one of the appearing candidates. (ANI)
