Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth on Thursday reaffirmed the government's commitment to building a self-reliant defence ecosystem, saying the resolve is to make India a developed nation by 2047 and transform the Indian Air Force into the world's most powerful air force through indigenous capabilities and innovation.

Addressing the reporters at a defence sector gathering, Seth said India has always believed in peace and the principle of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, but remains prepared to give a strong response to any challenge to its sovereignty and security.

"India's culture teaches us peace and the welfare of humanity. But when anyone tries to threaten us through terrorism or casts an evil eye on the nation, we also know how to respond with the spirit of Lord Shiva's Tandav," Seth said.

Highlighting the importance of Atmanirbhar Bharat in the defence sector, the Minister said the country's resolve is to make the Indian Air Force one of the most powerful air forces in the world through indigenous capabilities.

"The world is looking towards India today. This is not just a dream, but a resolve and determination that will never remain incomplete," he said.

Seth emphasised the critical role of defence industries, startups, academia and armed forces in building future military capabilities.

"A soldier fighting on the border is never alone. The story of his victory is shaped in your factories. The technology we develop today will determine the strength of our forces tomorrow," he said.

He urged defence manufacturers and innovators to focus on future warfare requirements and emerging technologies, stating that delays in acquiring critical technology can impact national security.

"The world is moving very fast. We cannot be satisfied with what we have achieved; we have to continue moving ahead," Seth said.

Praising India's startup ecosystem, Seth said Indian entrepreneurs can compete with the best in the world.

"Our startups are no less than any startup globally. The energy and talent of India's youth will play a decisive role in building the future," he added.

Drawing attention to the unique spirit of the Indian armed forces, Seth said, "The world teaches us that 1+1 equals 2, but for the Indian Army, 1+1 equals 11. This is the power of teamwork, commitment and determination."

The Minister also highlighted the need to increase the contribution of the manufacturing sector to India's GDP and said innovation in defence will strengthen the country's economic and strategic position.

Referring to India's recent achievements in infrastructure, technology and defence, Seth said the country has witnessed remarkable progress and must maintain the same momentum.

He said India's youth is carrying the dream of a developed India by 2047 and will play a key role in shaping the nation's future.

"The innovations you create today will be remembered by future generations. The country stands with you, and 140 crore Indians stand with you," Seth said. (ANI)
