The Indian Army's Spear Corps has launched a two-week specialised training programme for Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel deployed at Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) Airport in Agartala to enhance security preparedness and strengthen protection of critical aviation infrastructure.

The training programme, which commenced on July 27 at Agartala Military Station, has been organised under the framework of Military-Civil Fusion to improve operational coordination and tactical preparedness among security agencies.

Over the 14-day programme, experienced instructors from the Indian Army will train CISF personnel in key operational areas, including industrial and critical infrastructure security, vital area and vital point security, quick reaction team drills, and counter-drone operations and threat mitigation.

"Modern security challenges require a seamless, integrated response across agencies," said a representative overseeing the training.

The initiative aims to combine the tactical expertise of the Indian Army with the specialised aviation security role of the CISF to strengthen the overall security of MBB Airport, a key gateway to Agartala.

The programme also highlights the Indian Army's efforts to enhance capacity building and operational synergy with Central Armed Police Forces. Upon completion of the training, the CISF personnel will return to their duties at MBB Airport with enhanced tactical readiness and improved threat-mitigation skills. (ANI)
