West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Monday visited the Bhabanipur Assembly constituency following the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) landslide victory in the state assembly elections.

During his visit, the Chief Minister interacted with party workers and local residents, expressing his heartfelt gratitude for their overwhelming support and for the mandate given to the party.

While addressing supporters in Bhabanipur, the Chief Minister resolved to fulfil political commitments and secure the borders, specifically mentioning the deportation of illegal infiltrators.

"I'm not a man who will bow down. The BJP's Chief Minister will fulfil the commitments made by the party. The BJP government will keep the country safe. First, they (illegal infiltrators) were detected in the voter list, then they were deleted from the voter list. Now the time has come to deport them," Adhikari said.

CM asserted that his government would take strict legal action against those involved in corruption and atrocities against women, while also emphasising a tough stance on illegal infiltration.

Reiterating the state's commitment to women's safety through newly formed judicial oversight, the Chief Minister said, "The BJP will work to legally crack down on the atrocities committed against mothers, daughters and sisters. IPS Damayanti Sen, Member Secretary of Justice Sampati Chatterjee's committee have been given the responsibility of this. We are not going to leave anyone."

Levelling allegations of wealth accumulation against several individuals, Adhikari stated that he has already flagged specific names to the authorities for investigation.

"I have told the municipal affairs secretary and KMC commissioner about 4 names: Raju Naskar from Beleghata, who has 18 properties; Sona Pappu from Kasba, who has 24 properties; Nephew Abhishek Banerjee... has 24 properties; Javed Khan's son, who has 90 properties. These people have looted... in the coming days, the BJP government will legally put these corrupt people behind bars," the CM added. (ANI)
