Tamil Nadu BJP State President Nainar Nagendran on Thursday said it remains unclear whether Congress leaders in Tamil Nadu wish to remain in the DMK alliance, noting that cracks have begun to appear within the coalition.

In connection with Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar's upcoming discourse in Thoothukudi, Nainar Nagendran visited the city to meet him. Subsequently, while speaking to reporters in Thoothukudi, he shared various views on the prevailing political situation.

Responding to reporters' questions on whether the Congress party is exiting the DMK alliance, Nainar Nagendran said, "Kanimozhi has gone to Delhi to meet Rahul Gandhi. As far as I am concerned, whether the Tamil Nadu Congress leaders want to continue in the DMK alliance or not remains a question mark today. Cracks have emerged within their alliance."

Regarding the ongoing differences between AIADMK leaders O Panneerselvam (OPS) and Edappadi K Palaniswami (EPS), Nagendran termed it an internal party matter and said it would not be appropriate for him to comment.

Nagendran also talked about the strength of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). He said that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is currently strong, and that there is a possibility of more parties joining the alliance.

"In the future, this alliance would emerge as a very large mega alliance," he added.

Expressing confidence in the NDA, Nagendran said, "The people have understood the realities of family rule and corrupt governance. The National Democratic Alliance will win the upcoming elections."

Furthermore, Nagendran criticised the state government over rising crimes. He alleged that if one looks at daily newspapers, incidents of sexual violence against women, crimes against children, murders, and robberies have increased under the present government.

He attributed this situation to the widespread availability of narcotics such as ganja and methamphetamine, and claimed that Tamil Nadu is among the states in India with a high number of suicides.

"Although the Chief Minister had said crimes would be curbed with an 'iron hand,' in practice, crimes such as murders and robberies continue daily," he said. He specifically pointed to the Kongu region, claiming the situation has become so unsafe that no one can stay alone at home.

Nagendran also raised concerns over the 10 percent reservation provided by the Central Government for Pillai, Vellalar, and Muslim communities, claiming that the DMK government has approached the courts to oppose it. He further alleged that the state government has made it a habit to approach the courts, opposing every scheme announced by the Central Government. (ANI)
