E. Sreelakshmi and K.M. Parvana of Koothuparamba Higher Secondary School, Thokkilangadi, emerged as the winners of the Kannur district-level competition of the Vigyan Yatra Chief Minister's Megaquiz School Category, based on the history of Kerala's vibrant social progress.
The team of S.B. Tejasi and A. Vedhika of Koothuparamba Govt. Higher Secondary School won the second position, and the team of Aman N. Binoy and Ankit Krishna of Kannur St. Michael's AIHSS won the third position. All three teams have qualified for the state-level competition to be held on February 18. Thirty teams participated in the preliminary competition held at the Krishna Menon Memorial Government Women's College, Pallikkunnu, Kannur. The six teams that scored the highest marks in the written test conducted in the first phase competed in the finals. The prizes for the winners were given by District Panchayat President Adv. Binoy Kurian. District Information Officer P.P. Vineesh, District General Education Department Deputy Director D. Shiny, Nodal Officer of the Quiz Competition, Govt. Engineering College Principal Dr. C. Sreekumar, Krishna Menon Memorial Govt. Women's College Principal Dr. K.T. Chandramohanan, SSK District Coordinator E.C. Vinod, and Vidyakiranam District Coordinator K. Sudheer were present. In the college-level competition, M.E. Mithunraj and K.Niveth of Kannur University Teacher Education Centre, Dharamsala, won the first position. Anand Neelakandan and P.K. Rishikesh of Kannur University Dr. Janakiyammal Campus won the second position and U.K. Geethika and A. Cincy of Sree Narayana College, Kannur won the third position. More than 150 students from various colleges participated in the competition. Those who secured the first six positions in the preliminary competition qualified for the finals. ADM Kalabhaskar gave away the prizes to the winners. Director of Higher Education Department, K. Sudhir, congratulated the winners. District Information Officer P.P. Vineesh, Nodal Officer of the Quiz Competition, Govt. Engineering College Principal Dr. C Sreekumar, Krishna Menon Memorial Govt. Women's College Principal Dr. K.T.
