The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) on Wednesday levelled serious allegations against Jana Sena Party MLA from Railway Kodur Arava Sridhar, accusing him of sexually harassing and exploiting a government woman employee by misusing his political influence.

In a post on X, the YSRCP alleged that the MLA intimidated the woman over an extended period, issued threats to her and her family, and made false promises of marriage.

"@JanaSenaParty MLA, Government Whip, Arava Sridhar's Kichaka Parvam (reign of abuse). Harassment of a woman employee by misusing a Facebook acquaintance Jana Sena MLA Arava Sridhar allegedly raped a government woman employee for one and a half years by intimidating her The MLA allegedly exploited a woman employee who had no parents, using threats to subdue her Threatened to kill the woman employee's three-year-old son if she did not comply with his demands Claimed he is an MLA and can do anything, continuing harassment against the woman Continuous harassment through phone calls demanding sexual favors," the YSRCP posted.

"The woman employee lived in fear due to the MLA's harassment Later, he allegedly made false promises of marriage to the woman Again threatened the woman, forcing her to divorce her husband Personally called and threatened the woman's husband, demanding divorce Family disputes began after threats were made to the husband, who works as a software employee The woman became pregnant allegedly due to MLA Arava Sridhar MLA Sridhar allegedly threatened the woman and forced her to undergo an abortion Is this the protection you claim to provide to women, @PawanKalyan, @ncbn, @Anitha_TDP, @naralokesh?" the party added.

Meanwhile, the Koduru police have registered a case, and an investigation is underway.

YSRCP Women's Wing State President and MLC Varudu Kalyani strongly condemned the alleged incident.

Addressing the media at the YSRCP central office in Tadepalli, she said the coalition government had completely failed to protect women, allowing ruling party MLAs to act with impunity under the intoxication of power. (ANI)
